David was born in Solihull and trained at the Birmingham school of speech and drama.

David was part of the resident company at Midland arts Centre for two years-most notably in Treasure Island and Arabian Nights-as deviser, writer and music creator.

David's own company Theatre Compound won critical acclaim on tour with his productions of Bent,The Normal Heart,Someone Who'll watch over me and Elsie and Norm's Macbeth-Directing and appearing in each !

David's skill as a radio actor and voice artist secured him the role of Hugh Paddick in Round the Horne-revisited-including the original west end cast, the BBC television production and subsequently the original West End cast of Stop Messing About.

National tours and plays in rep have included Suddenly at Home, Murder with love, The Sound of Murder, The Real Monty, On Golden Pond, Time and the Conway's, A Christmas Carol, ,A Touch of Danger,Sweet Revenge , Deathtrap, Blithe Spirit, Inside Job" , Strangers on a train
, One For the Pot. Strictly Murder, and The Titfield Thunderbolt. He also appeared as drag queen Gloria in three tours of the hit comedy-Ladies Night.

David regularly appears in music hall and his own one man shows, concerts and cabaret,

Musicals have included Blondel, The Sound of Music, Our Day Out, City of Angels and the Narrator in The Rocky Horror Show including The Magic of Gilbert and Sullivan, and themed shows featuring the work of Coward, Kern Gershwin, Tom Lehrer and Flanders and Swan.

Television appearances have included Soldier Soldier, Miss Marple-The Mirror Cracked, Kinsy, 2.4 Children ,Minder and as Lord Nelson in the 2000 Royal Tournament in London.

2012 saw David touring  in the hit comedy A Bedfull of Foreigners
PLUShis own collaborative work-WILDBOYZ-with Alex Reid.

      As writer and deviser  of the show David played every other role !

David has just completed a major recording project-providing the voice and character of the late Dame Hilda Bracket -reading the "autobiography"-"One Little Maid"

David regularly performs as Dame in pantomime and last appeared in 'Çinderella'' at the Plaze theatre,Stockport in his 19th consecutive role as Dame
